Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Texas to lead store operations with a customer-first focus. You will support the Store Manager, supervise staff, handle merchandising, deposits and paperwork, and help maximize profitability while protecting assets.

The role requires coordinating scheduling, training, and safety measures, ensuring planograms are followed, and maintaining inventory accuracy and cashier accountability. Full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow procedures to manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, rotating, and displaying merchandise.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels by managing damages, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and merchandise presentation.
• Assist in ensuring financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, refunds, and overrides.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
