Job summary

SKIMS is seeking an Assistant Store Leader – People & Culture to partner with the Store Leader in building an inclusive, high-performing team. You’ll own talent acquisition, onboarding, development, performance, and employee relations while delivering exceptional customer service in store.

This role emphasizes emotional intelligence, people-first leadership, and a focus on store KPIs. You’ll lead scheduling, training, engagement strategies, and ensure compliance with policies and labor laws

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in a people leadership role
• Strong knowledge of hiring, recruiting, onboarding, and performance management best practices
• Track record of proactively identifying talent needs and building a pipeline through networking
• Experience handling employee relations with professionalism, confidentiality, and empathy
• Deep understanding of customer service principles and how people leadership impacts business outcomes
• Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risks
• Strong leadership skills to motivate and coach teams to achieve results
• Emotional intelligence and fairness in handling interpersonal challenges
• Ability to build trust and connect authentically with Team Members
• Passion for SKIMS brand and living its values

Responsibilities

• Lead with a Customer Obsessed mindset by building a team that is engaged, motivated, and focused on delivering exceptional service.
• Own talent acquisition for the store, including outreach, interviews, and hiring with a diverse pipeline.
• Proactively hire and maintain a bench of potential candidates through networking and community connections.
• Drive results by aligning hiring, staffing levels, and team performance with KPIs and customer experience metrics.
• Lead onboarding to ensure new hires feel welcomed, supported, and set up for success.
• Manage scheduling and labor planning to meet business demands while upholding SKIMS service standards.
• Support Learning Agility by identifying training needs and building development plans.
• Own performance management routines with clear expectations, feedback, and coaching.
• Handle employee relations with care, confidentiality, and consistent follow-through.
• Identify and develop future leaders and succession plans within the team.
• Develop engagement strategies that recognize wins and celebrate individuality.
• Ensure compliance with all SKIMS policies and labor laws and maintain integrity.
