Job summary

Lone Star PEO, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controller to serve as a key financial leader. The role oversees all accounting operations, ensures accurate reporting in GAAP, and provides strategic financial guidance to support growth.

While in-office is preferred, remote candidates will be considered, reflecting a flexible approach to leadership in a PEO environment. The ideal candidate will manage payroll funding, multi-state payroll taxes, and regulatory reporting, driving internal controls,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
• Experience within a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) or payroll services preferred.
• Advanced Excel and ERP/accounting system proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll accounting and financial reporting.
• Direct month-end and year-end close to GAAP standards.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, models, and cash flow projections.
• Oversee payroll funding, client payroll, and tax compliance.
