Pension Risk Transfer Pricing - Director & Actuary

Job Overview

The Pension Risk Transfer Earnings Analysis Director will be a key member of the US PRT team at American National. Reporting to the SVP, Pension Risk Transfer Pricing, they will support the company’s PRT objectives by analyzing financial KPIs, building dashboards, and interacting with stakeholders across the enterprise. The role may also involve influencing pricing strategies and assisting with core PRT pricing during high-volume periods.

Location

This position is based onsite at our Houston, TX office.

Responsibilities
  • Lead analysis of GAAP and STAT earnings to assess profitability and capital generation.
  • Communicate findings to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Support the core pricing team during peak periods.
  • Stay updated on standards like LDTI, PBR, and regulations.
  • Evaluate strategic options including longevity reinsurance.
  • Analyze financial statement adjustments and normalization techniques.
  • Develop earnings walk and source of earnings analysis.
  • Manage planning and forecasting for the PRT business.
  • Collaborate with investments on asset allocation and strategy.
  • Mentor less experienced analysts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or related field.
  • Six to eight years of relevant experience.
  • Progress in understanding actuarial principles; FSA designation preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, resourcefulness, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of Group Annuities and Pensions.
  • Experience in Pension Risk Transfer or Pensions.
