Job Title: Penrose Room Cook I
Job Pay Range: $19.13 per hour

This role will play a key part in the reopening of the Penrose Room while continuing to uphold our reputation and providing exceptional service to our guests.

As a member of the Penrose Room culinary team, the position of Cook I is lead culinarian position. The position of Cook I has the responsibility of preparing all dishes according to the menu and recipe specifications. Individuals will be responsible for upholding the standards regarding safety, sanitation, product freshness, and overall product execution. Individuals will be expected to follow standardized recipes and to assist with all production and will work to assist the Chef as necessary in planning and execution of meal service while following the overall direction of the Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and Sous Chef in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, taste, and production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following while other duties may be assigned:
- Maintains a clean, organized and sanitary work area following safety guideline.
- Assists chef with maintaining the kitchen and keeping staff on task
- Proceeds in preparation of all menu items in assigned area daily to include hot and cold food as specified in areas.
- Must be able to understand and adjust recipes according to business levels
- Assists with organization of product, equipment, and necessary paperwork.
- Precisely follows portion control, presentation of food, consistency of food, and flavor as determined by the culinary department.
- Checks coolers for proper rotation of food items to prevent spoilage.
- Must be able to maintain Serv Safe and health department standards.
- Ability to check and complete mise en place and pars to set-up the station.
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, always remaining calm and courteous.
- Uphold and abide by all Broadmoor policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Takes required breaks, notifying supervisor prior to leaving station.
- Other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For
- High School Diploma or G.E.D with 2 years of preferred culinary experience.
- Must be 18 years old.
- The employee is occasionally required to lift/pull/push up to 50 pounds and will be working in conditions that are both inside and outside at times.
- Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team member who works well with others.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
