Position Summary and ResponsibilitiesPennwood Cyber Charter School seeks a dynamic, innovative, and solutions-oriented leader to serve as the Director of Accountability and Staff Development. This role serves as a key academic leader responsible for advancing instructional excellence, guiding professional growth, and ensuring schoolwide compliance with academic performance standards and state reporting requirements.
The Director provides strategic oversight of staff development, student assessment systems, and school accountability frameworks to drive continuous improvement, support instructional decisions, and ensure operational transparency. This is a remote role with required travel to the York office and statewide in-person events.
Key Responsibilities Professional Learning and Staff Development- Design and lead a comprehensive professional learning framework aligned to instructional goals, educator needs, and state requirements;
- Oversee Educator Induction Program and Professional Learning and Training calendar;
Coordinate Act 48 credit reporting through PERMS and manage paraeducator credentialing compliance; - Ensure professional learning initiatives are tightly aligned to the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) and based on data-driven instructional practices;
Academic Accountability and Performance Monitoring- Oversee a school-wide student assessment program;
- Analyze data from state and local assessments to identify trends and support academic interventions through patterns in data;
- Collaborate with academic teams to connect data patterns to specific interventions and coach educators on how to use data to drive instruction and support;
- Support and monitor the implementation of the School Improvement Plan, ensuring progress is communicated and actionable;
State Reporting and Compliance- Oversee, in partnership with Pearson Virtual Schools, the accurate collection, validation, and submission of required data to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PIMS, Future Ready Index, etc.);
- Coordinate completion of mandated PDE school plans and ensure adherence to submission deadlines and quality standards
- Maintain working knowledge of state and federal accountability frameworks and implement internal systems to meet requirements
Leadership and Cross-Team Collaboration- Partner with school leaders, curriculum teams, and student support services to align instructional goals with accountability measures.
- Communicate academic performance and compliance updates to staff and stakeholders in an accessible and actionable format.
- Facilitate a data-driven culture of reflection, continuous growth, and strategic planning;
- Supervise educators and support staff involved in assessment, accountability, and professional learning functions
- Serve as a member of the K–12 Leadership Team, contributing to cross-departmental planning and decision-making;
- Ability to travel and represent the school at local and state-level events, professional development sessions, and community relations engagements as needed
- All other duties assigned

Requirements: Education & Certification:- K–12 Pennsylvania Principal Certification (Required)
- Advanced degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field
Experience:- 5+ years of successful K–12 teaching experience
- 3+ years in academic leadership or program management
- Experience using data to drive interventions, instruction, and student outcomes
Skills & Knowledge:- Proficient in educational data systems and assessment tools (e.g., PIMS, Future Ready Index)
- Knowledge of K–12 assessment models and state/federal accountability standards
- Strong communication, organization, and project management skills
- Technologically fluent (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, remote platforms)
Additional:- Ability to work remotely and travel as required
