As an Equipment Operator for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and smooth operation of our roadways, especially during the challenging winter months when snow plowing becomes essential. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
• Winter hours are 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Successful completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee Program employed by the Commonwealth of PA (or equivalent Federal Government job title); or
• Graduation from a Commercial Driver's License Training School; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with the Air Brake Restriction (L) removed.
• Possession of a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

Conditions of Employment:

• Obtain and maintain certification issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for heavy trucks, loaders, and two additional construction equipment within the probationary period.
• Possibility of obtaining and maintaining CDL endorsements and certifications for specific equipment.
• Operation of vehicles or equipment with a manual transmission is required.
• This position is subject to Drug and Alcohol testing per Federal Regulations.
