Position Overview

As a PennDOT Equipment Operator, you will perform tasks such as snow plowing, working on construction sites, operating heavy machinery, manual labor, minor equipment repairs, and routine maintenance on trucks and machinery. Work Schedule and Details

• Full-time position.
• Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Travel, overtime, and shift work may be required, with hours subject to seasonal and operational needs.
• Telework is not available for this position.
• Salary may be non-negotiable in some cases.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Experience and Training:

• Completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee Program, or
• Graduation from a Commercial Driver's License Training School, or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

• Valid Pennsylvania Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake Restriction (L) removed.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate per FMCSA regulations.

Conditions of Employment:

• Obtain active certification for heavy trucks and loaders within the probationary period.
• Maintain necessary CDL endorsements and certifications.
• Operate vehicles with manual transmissions if required.
• Subject to Drug and Alcohol testing per federal regulations.
