This trainee position involves operating equipment used in highway construction and maintenance, along with manual labor activities within a highway or bridge maintenance team. During training, you will work toward obtaining licenses and certifications, including the Heavy Truck/Tandem Axle (HT/TA) and loader (LD) with a bucket capacity of 4.5 cubic yards or less. You will learn to perform pre- and post-operation inspections, operate controls, use safety features, and handle tire chains.
