Position: Penetrant Line Operator I - Aerospace Parts Manufacturing - Swing Shift & Weekend Nights

Primary Purpose

A Penetrant Line Operator I uses Non-Destructive Treatment (NDT) techniques on titanium castings, specifically using liquid penetrant solution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operate castings through the penetrant line process.
2. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the Penetrant Department.
3. Work in darkroom conditions using ultraviolet light and mark castings for weld repair.
4. Operate hand grinders to remove minor defects if required.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

1. Good attendance record.
2. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
3. Ability to work effectively in a team.
4. Ability to stand for extended periods.
5. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodations.
6. HS diploma or equivalent; relevant experience may be considered in lieu.
7. Minimum age of 18 years.
8. Solid job history with over 1 year at previous or recent employer.
9. Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening.
10. Ability to pass vision screening.

Working Conditions

1. Work near moving mechanical parts.
2. Exposure to chemicals such as acetone, penetrant, and developer.
3. Exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, noise, and chemicals; generally manageable conditions.

Schedule

1. Swing Shift (Monday-Thursday, 4x10 hours) with $1.00/hr. shift differential.
2. Weekend Nights (Friday-Sunday, 3x12 hours) with $2.50/hr. shift differential.
3. Training on different schedules may occur for several months.
4. Overtime possible based on business needs.
