Job description

At Jansen Cable Construction, as a Laborer on our Underground Telecom team, you’ll participate in all phases of underground construction, including loading, delivery, digging, and equipment operation.

What you’ll do as a Laborer:

• Perform construction tasks including loading, delivery, digging, and operating equipment
• Install underground telecommunications cabling
• Operate construction equipment, and maintain work areas
• Clearly communicate with all team members
• Complete daily production reports
• Help with site restoration efforts
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

Pay Range (Illinois): $20-22 per hour, as required by Illinois regulation.

What you’ll need:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States
• High School Diploma, GED, or relevant work experience
• Preferred: experience operating hand tools and utility trucks safely

Physical abilities & exposures:

• Routinely: work alone in remote locations, in confined spaces, operate machinery, use fine hand motions, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, lift >55 lbs
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard, mouse
