Job summary

Houston Metro Urology is seeking a per diem Physical Therapist to provide Pelvic Health/Pelvic Floor Dysfunction services across patient populations. The role supports a team approach focused on educating patients, families, and staff to improve care.

The candidate will assess patients, develop and adjust treatment plans, and document progress per facility guidelines. Texas license and BLS are required, with strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• 3-5 years of experience in Pelvic Health/Pelvic Floor Dysfunction.
• Licensed (and in good standing) as a physical therapist in Texas.
• BLS Certification required.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate Physical Therapy needs for Pelvic Health/Pelvic Floor Dysfunction patients.
• Develop and revise treatment plans with consideration of age and discharge needs.
• Monitor patient progress towards goals and adjust plans accordingly.
• Complete documentation in alignment with facility policies.

Job description

Houston Metro Urology is currently searching for a per diem/PT Physical Therapist to provide Pelvic Health/Pelvic Floor Dysfunction services for all patient populations. Our Practice focuses on a team approach and places a strong emphasis on patient care by educating patients, families, and others as appropriate.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Physical Therapy needs are assessed and evaluated for Pelvic Health/Pelvic Floor Dysfunction patient population.
• Treatment plan reflects an understanding of patients’ age and situation, including discharge plan.
• Treatment plan is revised based on patient’s progress towards stated goals.
• Documentation is complete, timely, and in accordance with facility and practice guidelines.

Education/License/Experience/Skills

Required

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• 3-5 years of prior working experience with Pelvic Health/Pelvic Floor Dysfunction.
• Licensed (and in good standing) as a physical therapist in Texas.
• BLS required.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic skills in math and computer science.
• Appropriate knowledge of physical therapy evaluation and treatment techniques to manage the rehabilitation population.
• Effective problem-solving skills for physical therapy evaluation, interpretation, treatment planning, and execution, taking into consideration the patient’s age and psychosocial, cultural, and religious background.
• Therapy and healthcare students are oriented, trained, and mentored to achieve stated performance expectations.
• Performance Improvement opportunities are identified and acted upon as appropriate to implement best practices.
• Additional department, organization, or network activities are completed per established objectives.
• Basic skills in teaching others and self‑assessment of learning needs, strengths, and professional goals.
• Safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self or patients. Demonstrates the ability to assess and interact with patients and families using the theories of human growth and development, family systems, and cultural background.
• Computer proficiency required. Microsoft Office applications preferred with the ability to learn new software.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s (Preferred)
• Pelvic Health-related certification preferred at time of hire. This certification includes but is not limited to: APTA Certificate of Achievement in Obstetric or Pelvic Health Physical Therapy (CAPP-OB or CAPP-Pelvic), Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC), Women’s Health Clinical Specialist (WCS), or Pelvic Health Specialist Certification (PHC).
