Job summary

Vanity Fur Chino Hills is seeking an Experienced Mobile Pet Groomer to join our passionate team. You’ll groom dogs along a preset mobile route, focusing on safety, comfort, and quality, with no sales or phone handling.

Expect a competitive pay range of $50,000–$70,000 per year, with base pay, commission, tips, flexible scheduling, and paid time off. Must have at least one year of grooming experience, ability to work with all breeds, and strong communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience as a dog grooming technician or in a similar role.
• Comfort working with all breeds and sizes of dogs.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and engage in continuing education.
• Effective communication with coworkers and pet owners.

Responsibilities

• Brushing and light dematting; basic trimming as needed.
• Bathing dogs and ensuring coat is thoroughly dried.
• Executing breed- and owner-specific clipping styles.
• Inspecting skin for conditions and ensuring overall pet safety.
• Trimming nails using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Maintaining sanitation and cleanliness of the grooming area.

• Our high-velocity dryers save time drying those thick, dense coats
• Easy-to-drive
• No annoying generator to crank up and keep fueled. Our vans are powered by lithium batteries! Solar-charged!

A day in the life of a Vanity Fur Mobile Pet Groomer:

• Brushing and lightly de-matting or removing matted fur
• Bathing dogs and ensuring their coat is properly dried
• Executing a variety of clipping techniques and styles based on breed and owner preferences
• Thoroughly examining dogs for skin conditions
• Safely trimming nails using a Dremmel
• Maintaining the safety of dogs throughout the grooming process
• Adhering to strict sanitary and cleaning procedures
• Communicating effectively and compassionately with pet owners
• Prioritizing the well-being of pets by grooming them safely and comfortably
• Working with an average of 5-7 dogs per day
• Minimum 8-hour workdays
• Keeping the mobile unit clean, organized, and stocked
• Driving to clients' houses with short travel time between stops

What are we looking for?

• At least one year of previous experience as a dog grooming technician or in a similar role
• Comfort working with all breeds and sizes of dogs
• Willingness to learn new techniques and engage in continuing education
• Effective communication skills with coworkers and pet owners
• Strong attention to detail to ensure top-notch grooming results
• A genuine passion for working with pets
• Safe and proper scissoring skills
• Experience in a high-volume salon or mobile grooming and knowledge of pet behaviors acquired from such environment
• Familiarity with breed-specific clips is a plus
• Additional experience in cat grooming is highly valued but not required
• Professional communication skills when interacting with our clientele
