SAIC is looking for a 100% remote PEGA Software Engineer

Job Description:

SAIC is seeking an experienced Pega software engineer to join a remote Agile Scrum team supporting the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources and Conservation Division. The engineer will participate in analyzing, documenting, developing, testing, and implementing software system requirements to support the project’s business and mission systems. The candidate will work within a SAFe Agile team, collaborating regularly with teammates, project leadership, other teams, and product owners to translate needs into custom software solutions that are peer-reviewed, tested, verified, and integrated.

Primary duties include:

• Design, develop, and test high-reliability applications.
• Provide end-user support for multiple applications.
• Collaborate with other developers to build solutions based on scoped requirements.
• Manage application code using version control and problem tracking tools.
• Work effectively in an Agile development environment.
• Engage closely with federal customers.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or relevant field; relevant experience may substitute for degree.
• 3+ years of development experience, including at least 2 years with Pega.
• Experience with Pega PRPC platform, including design and development.
• Knowledge of Pega Class Hierarchy and Business Process Modeling.
• Experience with code libraries and building unit tests.
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL.
• Understanding of secure coding practices like OWASP.
• Familiarity with all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Strong communication skills and team collaboration.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (not required to start).

Desired Skills:

• 5+ years of development experience with 3+ years in Pega.
• Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence), Git/Bitbucket, cloud solutions, legacy application maintenance, CI/CD, and Agile/Safe methodologies.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. Applications are accepted ongoingly; no deadline.
