Job summary

Spectrum News is seeking a PEG Coordinator to operate and maintain automation tools and equipment for encoding and sustaining regular cablecast programs. The role requires familiarity with encoding digital video and controlling video/audio automation systems as part of a collaborative newsroom team.

You will contribute to timely, accurate newscasts for the local audience, balancing technical duties with clear communication and teamwork on a fast-paced daily schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience: Video Production and Master Control Operations – 2+ years.
• Education: Associates degree in Telecommunications, Electronics or related field or equivalent television/cable work experience.
• Technical skills: Knowledge of PEG facility automation systems, studio production and postproduction, transmission and operation of television broadcasting systems.

Responsibilities

• Ability to read waveform, vector-scope and RF monitor.
• Schedule flexibility for different or longer shifts due to breaking news or severe weather emergencies.
• Valid driver’s license for authorized driving in the state of residence.
