Scheduled Hours: As Needed

Program/Location: Mental Health First Aid Awareness; Windsor, CT. *Mostly remote with some in-person meetings in the Tolland, Windham, and Hartford Counties required.

MHAT will utilize the evidenced based training curriculums of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Youth MHFA (YMHFA) to train individuals and groups that can benefit from mental health awareness training in the communities CHR serves. We seek to train a diverse group of individuals including social and human service staff, criminal justice professionals, veterans, first responders, K-12 teachers/staff, and community college personnel.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Have and Maintain Adult MHFA Instructor Certification. Youth MHFA Instructor certification a plus.
  • Provide MHFA training to professional and social service providers from a variety of agencies, including professionals in schools, criminal justice, emergency personnel, community college, veteran groups, and social service agencies.
  • Collect trainee sign-in sheets, trainee satisfaction, and knowledge-based surveys.
Qualifications

Experience: Have lived experience with mental illness or substance use disorders and willingness to share experience to enhance training where appropriate.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Adult MHFA Instructor Certification at hire. Youth MHFA Instructor Certification a plus.

Compensation: $20.00/hr

*Our per diem and fee-for-service positions offer a flat hourly rate.
