Job summary

Telecare Corporation is hiring for a Peer Support Specialist in San Jose, CA. This role involves engaging with members, guiding recovery goals, and collaborating with a care team to reinforce a recovery-centered approach. Shifts are Full-Time, DAYS, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with a starting wage range and a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Geographic pay differentials apply. Minimum requirements include GED or better, California Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification, Behavioral Health

Qualifications

• GED or better.
• High School or better.
• California: Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA prior to date of hire and maintained throughout employment.
• Experience as a beneficiary of the Behavioral Health system of care.
• Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
• Willingness to use your personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.
• Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do to Change Lives

Peer Support Specialists engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with members served that assist the person to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Support Specialists provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare's Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS), in which each member’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Support Specialists respond to critical situations with high level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for individuals experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.

Shifts Available

Full-Time | DAYS | Shifts: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM | Days: Monday - Friday

Expected starting wage range is $23.00 - $25.76. $1,000 sign on bonus. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

What You Bring to the Table (Must Have)

• High School Diploma or GED
• Peer Certification must be maintained throughout employment
