Job summary

Klamath Basin Behavioral Health in Klamath Falls, OR is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) to join our interdisciplinary team. You will empower individuals to navigate challenges, build skills, and stay connected to resources that support long-term wellness.

You will build trusted relationships, facilitate peer groups, assist with recovery goals, and document progress in compliance with state and agency requirements while upholding NCC AP NCPRSS ethics.

Qualifications

• Current Oregon Health Authority Certified Peer Support Specialist certification (or Youth PSS certification where applicable).
• Must be at least 18 years old and not on the Medicaid provider exclusion list.
• Successful completion of an OHA approved 40 hour Peer Support Specialist Training.
• Driving is required for this position and an insurable driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with peers where they are in homes, clinics, community sites.
• Provide emotional support during clinic visits, ensuring peers feel heard and respected.
• Facilitate or co-lead peer support groups creating safe spaces for growth and recovery.
• Help peers set recovery goals and take steps toward independence (budgeting, transport, healthcare).
• Ensure peers remain connected to community resources through follow up support for long-term stability.
• Document in a timely, accurate manner meeting agency and grant requirements.
• Model professional, ethical behavior per NCC AP NCPRSS Code of Ethics.
