Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Saint Louis, Missouri, is seeking a Peer Specialist to support children, adolescents, and adults in community-based behavioral health services. You will help develop individualized treatment plans, teach coping and recovery skills, and coordinate services with families and partners.

You will use evidence-based approaches such as Motivational Interviewing and CBT/DBT skills, document clearly, and participate in ongoing training to improve care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related human services field or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support is eligible.
  • Experience delivering services to individuals with mental health or related challenges is valued.

Responsibilities

  • Provide community-based behavioral health services to diverse clients (children to adults).
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with the care team.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices (e.g., Motivational Interviewing, CBT/DBT) and promote recovery.
  • Teach coping and self-management skills and facilitate PSR group sessions.
  • Coordinate services with schools, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Document services accurately and maintain client records.
  • Engage in training, supervision, and quality improvement efforts.

ORBachelor's degree in an unrelated field with two (2) years of related experience; ORAny four-year combination of higher education and two (2) years of related work experience; ORAssociate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support degree;
