The Rescue Mission of Trenton is looking for a caring and dependable Peer Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time, in-person position. This is not a remote job.
What You'll Do
- Welcome clients as they begin treatment.
- Build trusting relationships by listening, encouraging, and supporting clients.
- Check on clients throughout your shift to ensure they are safe and doing well.
- Meet one-on-one with clients to offer guidance and encouragement.
- Help clients set recovery goals and connect with community resources.
- Support a safe, respectful, and positive living environment.
- Help calm difficult situations and provide support during times of stress.
- Encourage clients to take part in treatment, groups, and daily activities.
- Complete required paperwork and work closely with counselors and other staff.
What We're Looking For
- Personal recovery experience and a desire to help others.
- Peer Specialist experience is preferred but not required.
- A caring, respectful, and positive attitude.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Ability to work well with others and independently.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to complete documentation.
- Ability to work one of the following assigned shifts.
Because the Rescue Mission of Trenton operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, your regular schedule may include weekends and holidays.
Shift Schedule
- First Shift: 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Second Shift: 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
- Third Shift: 10:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
