Job summary

Santé Group is hiring a Full-Time Peer Recovery Specialist to join our frontline crisis intervention team in Southern MD (Charlotte Hall). This in-office role runs 4:00pm–12:00am, Monday through Friday.

You will assess crises, create crisis plans, document incidents, and liaise with families and other providers under clinical supervision. Required are a high school diploma, 2 years in recovery and 5 years lived experience with mental illness or related disorders, plus a valid driver’s license

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years in full recovery and 5 years lived experience with mental illness, substance abuse, or co-occurring disorder.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in danger, crisis, environmental, and lethality assessments.
  • Perform on-scene assessment and treatment planning.
  • De-escalate crises and implement crisis plans.
  • Make appropriate referral recommendations using community resources.
  • Engage with families and involved persons to facilitate treatment.
  • Document interactions using CRS procedures.
  • Collaborate with first responders and understand their culture.
  • Complete required trainings and provide community education about CRS.
  • Check work email at shift start and end.
  • Mentor interns and new staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

Santé is seeking a Full-Time Peer Recovery Specialists (in office)to join our frontline crisis intervention team in Southern MD (Charlotte Hall, MD). The availableshift is 4:00pm - 12:00am Monday through Friday.As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you will assess, evaluate, and perform crisis intervention techniques, and will develop a crisis plan for continuation of services related to individual clients. He or she will be responsible for all incident documentation and will be the on-site resource for any relevant clinical information, as well as the liaison for collaboration with other involved parties including families, friends, and other community providers (all under clinical supervision of an LCSW-C/LCPC).

What You’ll Do:
  • Assist in performing a danger assessment, a crisis assessment, an environmental assessment upon entry to the community situation and lethality assessment
  • Assist in performing an on-scene assessment and treatment plan
  • Effectively perform crisis intervention including de-escalation, crisis planning and implementation
  • Design appropriate referral recommendations using available community resources
  • Address population of child, adolescent, adult, dual-diagnosis, co-occurring and elderly
  • Work with families and involved persons to de-escalate the situation, make a crisis plan, and enlist cooperation with recommended treatment
  • Document interactions using CRS procedures
  • Must be able to work with first responders and be aware of first responder culture
  • Must familiarize oneself with police codes and language
  • Participate in and complete all required trainings
  • Provide education in the community about the agency and all components of CRS when needed
  • Check work e-mail at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Provide mentoring to interns and new staff
  • Other duties as assigned
What We Require:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one (1) year professional experience (experience working with children and families in a community-based program preferred).
  • Two (2) years in full recovery AND five (5) years lived experience with mental illness, substance abuse, or a co-occurring disorder for yourself or your family.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance.
