Peer Recovery Specialist Anchor ED $2,000 retention bonus

This position is eligible for a $2,000 retention bonus.

Job Summary:

The Providence Center Peer Recovery Specialist Anchor Emergency Department provides on-call recovery support services to patients and family members in participating hospital emergency departments. When full or part time, this staff member is based at the Anchor Recovery Community Center and also supports a caseload of members as a recovery coach.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-call recovery coaching for patients and family members, including education and referrals.
  • Respond promptly to dispatcher contact and follow protocols for hospital contact and travel.
  • Obtain necessary releases of information (ROI) and adhere to all confidentiality laws and policies.
  • Complete all required documentation.
  • Maintain an active caseload of ED patients and follow up for 10 consecutive days or until recovery planning begins.
  • Communicate positively and respectfully with hospital staff.
  • Attend all required trainings and maintain Relias training compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or higher preferred; High School diploma or GED required.
  • RI State certified Recovery Coach or plan to obtain certification within the first year.
  • Understanding of community resources and recovery-oriented systems of care.
  • Valid driver’s license, registration, and auto insurance.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, and case management techniques.
  • Ability to advocate for clients' needs.
  • Minimum 2 years of continuous recovery experience.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
