Job summary

Washington County seeks a Peer Recovery Specialist to help individuals identify personal goals for recovery through one-on-one and group sessions. You will support goal setting, develop recovery plans, and link clients to resources for treatment, housing, transportation, and employment.

Division IV oversees services; work hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm. Eligible for health and retirement benefits; EOE. Must pass background checks and comply with security clearances when required.

Qualifications

• Must pass criminal background check.
• Subject to pre-employment drug testing.
• Eligibility for federally mandated security clearances when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in identifying personal recovery goals in one-on-one and group sessions.
• Assist with obtaining community resources for treatment, recovery, housing, childcare, transportation, education and employment.
• Connect individuals to recovery services including inpatient and outpatient care as needed.
• Communicate information with individuals and their treatment teams.
• Perform related duties as required.

Job Summary:

Assist individuals in identifying personal goals for recovery using both one-on-one and group sessions.

• Support the individual in goal setting and development of a recovery plan by providing skills, strengths, supports and resources to aid them.
• Assist individuals with obtaining community resources for substance use treatment, recovery, housing, childcare and transportation, build social skills, education and employment opportunities, obtain medical services, and other recovery oriented activities.
• Assist individual by helping connect individual to the recovery community including inpatient and outpatient substance use services if needed.
• Communicate information with individuals and their treatment team
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required, this position is subject to pre-employment and reasonable suspicion testing and if a promotional position, candidate must pass an assignment drug test.
