Job description

We have over 300 Peer roles at Telecare. We value this lived experience and aim to grow this within our organization. We have a career ladder specific to our Peer Workforce.

What You Will Do to Change Lives

The Peer Recovery Coach I engages, inspires, and facilitates meaningful conversations with members to help them explore, create, and meet their recovery goals. They provide consultation to promote and reinforce Telecare's Recovery Culture, respecting each member's point of view and preferences, and respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills to support a least restrictive environment during emergencies.

Shifts Available:

  • Saturday and Sunday 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
  • Sunday and Monday 3:00 - 11:30 PM
  • Friday Only 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Expected starting wage range is $21.00 - $21.58. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges.

Shift differentials for hourly staff: 6% for PM Shift, 10% for Overnight Shift. Weekend Shift differentials: 5% for Weekend AM, 11% for Weekend PM, 15% for Weekend Overnight.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Peer Certification obtained prior to hire and maintained throughout employment (e.g., Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification in California)
  • One year or part-time equivalent experience supporting members with behavioral health challenges
  • Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system
  • Completion of Peer Support or Peer Employment Training
