Job summary

CARE of Southeast Michigan in Mount Clemens, MI seeks a Peer Recovery Coach for PROJECT ASSERT. This full-time, hourly (non-exempt) role offers 37.5 hours weekly at $19.00 per hour.

You will mentor clients and link them to community resources to support recovery efforts and improve quality of life. Qualified applicants will have 4+ years in long-term recovery, a high school diploma, CPRC/CPRM certifications or an active development plan, and CCAR Recovery Coach Academy completion with ethics

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED is required.
• Must have or be willing to obtain CPRC and CPRM certifications.
• CCAR Recovery Coach Academy completion including ethics is required or planned.
• Experience in peer coaching and recovery support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services to individuals as assigned.
• Ensures assigned paperwork is completed and maintained in accordance with funding source standards and CARE of SEM policy and procedures.
• Demonstrates in practice there are multiple pathways to recovery.
• Facilitate timely referral and placements from hospital to treatment/recovery support providers.
• Documents information for established metrics and outcomes as required.
• Ability to adjust hours of work based on the community needs, including evening and weekends.

Job Summary

A Peer Coach works as a mentor, guide, and resource broker to ensure individuals are receiving and connecting to all resources available within their community. This is a person who has experience receiving services and/or supports for a substance use.

Description of responsibilities:

• Provide direct services to individuals as assigned.
• Ensures assigned paperwork is completed and maintained in accordance with funding source standards and CARE of SEM policy and procedures.
• Demonstrates in practice there are multiple pathways to recovery.
• Facilitate timely referral and placements from hospital to treatment/recovery support providers.
• Documents information for established metrics and outcomes as required.
• Ability to adjust hours of work based on the community needs, including evening and weekends.

Required experience:

• Must be in long term recovery from a substance use disorder for at least four consecutive years.
• One year of peer coaching or related experience preferred.

Required skills / education:

• High school Diploma or graduate equivalent degree required
• Must have or be willing to obtain both certifications:
• Certified Peer Recovery Coach (CPRC)
• Certified Peer Recovery Mentor (CPRM) or have an active development plan through MCBAP and timely completion.
• Must have or be willing to obtain certificate of completion of the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) Recovery Coach Academy, including ethics.
