A leading human services organization in Michigan seeks a Peer Recovery Coach to provide mentorship and support for individuals on their recovery journeys. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, experience with public mental health services, and a strong desire to assist others. Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Certified Peer Support Specialist preferred or willing to become certified within 6 months.
  • Must have a primary diagnosis of mental illness or substance use.
  • Capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated competency in computer skills with electronic health record and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to comply with all applicable rules, standards, and policies.

Job Summary:

A Peer Recovery Coach is an individual with a lived experience and journey in receiving public mental health/substance use services and supports. They will interact, support and mentor individuals who are working toward their own recovery and will be an essential member of multi-disciplinary treatment teams.

Job Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Certified Peer Support Specialist preferred or willing to become certified as a Certified Peer Support Specialist within the first 6 months or less of employment.
  • Must have a primary diagnosis of mental illness or substance use from a current or former consumer of public mental health service, must demonstrate leadership and advocacy skills and a strong dedication to recovery.
  • Capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, therapist, case managers and the public.
  • Demonstrated competency in computer skills using electronic health record and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to comply with all applicable licensing rules, accreditation standards, code of ethics, insurance reimbursement rules, and Judson Center’s policies and procedures.
