Job summary

PROMESA R.H.C.F. seeks a Peer Navigator to support individuals facing barriers to care. The role acts as a bridge between community and clinical services, promoting engagement, empowerment, and recovery.

It is field-based, requiring compassion, trauma-informed approach, and strong interpersonal skills across diverse populations. The position involves outreach in the Bronx, with a 35-hour work week, Mon-Fri, and a salary of $21.01 per hour.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage diverse populations.
• Lived experience with recovery, homelessness, HIV, behavioral health, or justice involvement preferred.
• Completion of or willingness to complete Peer Recovery Training and/or certification.

Responsibilities

• Establish trusting relationships with individuals in outreach settings.
• Support participants in navigating services (primary care, behavioral health, housing, benefits).
• Provide appointment reminders and accompany clients to appointments as needed.
