RiseWell Community Services in Massapequa seeks a Part-time Peer Counselor to join the Community Residence. You will provide peer support and ADL training in a licensed residential program offering transitional housing to people with psychiatric disabilities.

The role emphasizes being a positive role model, informal counseling, and supporting recovery through activities such as medication monitoring, skills development, symptom management, socialization, and transportation training.

Qualifications

• Personal or shared experience with mental illness and/or substance abuse issues.
• Ability and desire to assist others in mastery of independent living skills and the personal recovery process.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support and ADL training in a licensed residential program.
• Serve as a positive role model of community functioning and support participants’ recovery.
