Job summary

RiseWell Community Services is looking for a Part-time Supportive Peer Counselor to join their SSSH Supportive Scattered Site Housing team. This role involves providing informal counseling, peer support, and training in daily living skills for individuals with psychiatric disabilities.

RiseWell Community Services is seeking a Part‑time Supportive Peer Counselor to join the SSSH Supportive Scattered Site Housing team.

Reports to: Program Supervisor

Department: Residential Services

Qualifications

Personal or shared experience with mental illness and/or substance abuse issues. Ability and desire to assist others in mastery of independent living skills and the personal recovery process. Understanding of peer support, self‑help philosophy. Clean, valid NY State Driver’s License. Fingerprinting, criminal record check, approval from NYS Office of Mental Health.

Job Function

To provide a positive role model of community functioning, informal counseling, peer support and ADL training in a licensed residential program providing transitional housing to people with psychiatric disabilities.
