Providence is expanding a Walk-In Behavioral Health Clinic in Anchorage and seeks a Certified Peer Specialist to support individuals with behavioral health and/or substance use challenges.
The role emphasizes recovery, empowerment, and community integration, guiding individuals to access services, develop coping skills, and advocate for their own wellness within our patient-centered care culture.
Schedule: Monday-Friday Day shift
This role will be supporting a new Walk-In Behavioral Health Clinic in Anchorage.
The Peer Support Specialist provides flexible, community/program-based peer support services that are designed to promote the recovery, empowerment, and community integration of individuals who have severe behavioral health and/or substance use disorder challenges by facilitating opportunities for individuals receiving service to direct their own recovery and advocacy process, by teaching and supporting the development and utilization of skills needed to facilitate the individual's recovery, promoting the knowledge of available service options and choices and the utilization of natural resources in the community, and helping facilitate the development of a sense of wellness and self-worth.
