We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Permanent Pedigree Farm Technician to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about animal husbandry and breeding of pedigree livestock. The successful candidate will oversee daily farm operations, ensure livestock health and welfare, and maintain high standards of animal care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the pedigree farm, ensuring livestock welfare and compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor livestock health, promptly addressing issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of pedigree details, health checks, and treatments.
  • Assist in breeding and raising pedigree livestock, ensuring animal welfare.
  • Coordinate feeding schedules, cleaning routines, and daily tasks.
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with veterinary staff for vaccinations, treatments, and health management.
  • Participate in selecting and purchasing new livestock meeting pedigree standards.
  • Conduct inspections of farm facilities, addressing issues proactively.
  • Train and guide junior staff, fostering a culture of excellence.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within manufacturing or livestock management.
  • Valid driver’s license required for operating farm machinery and transporting livestock.
  • Certification as a Poultry Technician is essential; experience with other livestock is a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of animal husbandry, breeding, feeding, and health management.
  • Strong observational skills for identifying health or welfare issues.
  • Good physical condition for manual labor and livestock handling.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with leadership capabilities.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to animal welfare and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and manage a busy workload.
