Position: Medical Director of Behavioral Health Services
Details:
- Full-time, permanent role
- This position combines administrative, clinical, and academic responsibilities, including providing direct patient care to all age groups
- Developing clinical programs aimed at expanding child and adolescent psychiatric services
- Faculty appointment through The GWU School of Medicine & Health Sciences, Washington, DC
Clinical:
- Primarily inpatient care
- Provide clinical care to adolescents and adults across different services
- Clinical time allocation and scope to be discussed during interviews
- Clinical/Admin split: 80% clinical, 20% administrative
- Manage 12-14 patients daily
Administrative:
- Collaborate with health system leadership to understand community needs and develop clinical programs
- Recruit and retain multidisciplinary staff
- Ensure regulatory compliance and timely clinical documentation
- Oversee clinician call schedules
- Supervise and oversee APPs
Academic:
- Full-time academic appointment at The GWU School of Medicine, rank based on achievements
- Medical students in 3rd & 4th years rotate through Psychiatry, with faculty involved in teaching, grading, and mentoring
- Faculty participate in didactic teaching and scholarly activities
- Access to career development resources and leadership training through the school
Requirements:
- Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
- Eligible for Maryland State Medical License & DEA at appointment
- Preferably 3+ years of clinical child psychiatry experience
