Job description

Pediatrician Opportunity: Othello, WA - Located 60 miles from Yakima; 150 miles from Seattle

Position Details:
  1. Full-time
  2. Permanent
  3. Seeking a Pediatrician in the Othello / Mattawa, WA area
  4. Pediatricians are responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.
  5. Pediatricians promote wellness and educate about the prevention of illness and health promotion.
  6. Pediatricians perform physical examinations and developmental assessments, manage pediatric illness, and help families meet their health needs.
  7. The Pediatrician will undertake hospital-based duties as required for the care of Clinic patients.
  8. Provide primary, acute, and chronic patient care (including emergency care) at an Association-operated Community Health Center, and/or outpatient or inpatient medical care at a hospital.
  9. Develop and maintain good rapport with patients, treating each equally regardless of race, creed, color, sex, or socioeconomic status.
  10. Perform clinic healthcare duties for an agreed-upon number of hours per week, with hours determined mutually between the Physician and the Executive Director, maintaining flexibility for hospital duties, education, and patient needs.
  11. Maintain full active hospital privileges at the hospital.
  12. Provide call coverage and inpatient care at Community Hospital on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays, coordinated with schedule and approved by the Medical Director.
  13. Keep accurate, up-to-date records of all clinical activities in accordance with medical records protocol.
  14. Meet all continuing medical education requirements, with prior approval for scheduling.
  15. Participate in the Association’s Quality Assurance Peer Review Program.
  16. Attend staff conferences and medical meetings.
  17. Be available for consultation with other healthcare providers and the Board of Directors, discussing administrative and medical matters with the Chief Medical Officer as needed.
  18. Devote entire time to the practice, including administrative duties as required.
  19. Restrictions on outside services or activities without express written consent of the Association.

Primary Attributes:
  • General Development: Ability to work under stress, maintain organization, communicate effectively, and treat patients and staff respectfully.
  • Professional and Technical Knowledge: Graduate of an accredited Medical School, completion of a residency in Pediatrics, and at least one year of internship. Knowledge of administrative practices and regulations, with a focus on underserved and rural populations.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication in writing and verbally, with bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and visual acuity requirements.
  • Travel: Frequent travel to clinic sites, valid driver’s license required.
