Job summary

ProHealth Physicians, part of UnitedHealth Group, is seeking a Medical Assistant in Pediatrics at the Glastonbury, CT location. The role includes patient care, phlebotomy, and front-line support within a busy care team.

The MA will document patient interactions in the EHR, schedule tests and follow-ups, and assist with coordinating care under CT scope of practice. A2+ years in healthcare and MA certification are preferred, with CPR/BLS and Epic experience valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant program or completed relevant medical assisting training by any branch of the armed forces of the United States.
• 2+ years of aide or tech level work experience in healthcare.
• Certified / Registered Medical Assistant from AAMA, NHA, NCCT, or AMT is preferred.
• CPR/BLS Certification preferred.
• Experience working with Epic EMR and in a primary care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, clinical summary and direction on next steps or follow up.
• Perform phlebotomy for patients as needed.
• Prepare patients to be seen by collecting and recording clinical information as per protocol.
• Schedule tests, treatments and follow up visits; refer patients to outside resources when appropriate.
• Document all patient interactions and other clinical activities in the EHR.
