Job summary

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant or CMA to support physicians in a busy pediatric specialty center. You will assist with patient care, clerical tasks, and chart management while ensuring excellent patient and family communication.

You will also collect specimens, process orders, and handle data entry, helping to coordinate appointments and provide top-notch service to patients, families, and staff. A strong team role and ability to work under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher; BLS certification is required.
• CMA course preferred, not required; phlebotomy training/experience helps.
• Experience with computers and office equipment; strong English communication is essential.
• Pediatric experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care and routine procedures in a busy pediatric specialty center.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow and charting; provide information to patients and caregivers.
• Collect specimens, prepare for exams, and assist with obtaining orders and data entry.
• Proficiency in collecting blood samples and proper labeling; ensure correct patient identification.
• Follow hospital policies for transporting and delivering specimens to the lab; maintain infection control.
• Handle clerical tasks including medical records, referrals, insurance verification, and appointment coordination.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of exam/procedure rooms and equipment; assist with quality control.
