Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Pediatrics to partner with interdisciplinary teams in delivering safe, evidence-based medication therapy for pediatric patients. The role serves as a clinical resource for physicians, nurses, and patients, supporting Mercy’s mission and clinical excellence.

The specialist will participate in care planning, rounds, and education while maintaining advanced knowledge in pediatric pharmacotherapy and specialty practice areas.

Qualifications

BS or PharmD from an accredited school
Active pharmacist license in the state of practice
PGY-1 residency completed or 4+ years of hospital pediatric experience preferred
BPS certification eligibility required; specialty certification preferred

Responsibilities

Review patient records to ensure safe, effective therapy
Collaborate with care team to optimize pediatric regimens
Provide medication counseling to prescribers, nurses, and families
Monitor therapy and adjust plans based on response and safety
Document interventions and outcomes accurately
Support QA activities and MUEs as needed
Precept pharmacy students and residents during rotations
