The Division of Child Advocacy at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh is seeking a Clinical Director for our Child Advocacy Program. The candidate will be the ninth faculty member of a highly respected Division of Child Advocacy. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Opportunity Details
  • Located in a hospital-based child advocacy center which is accredited by the National Children’s Alliance (NCA).
  • Position involves communication with a variety of professionals in multiple jurisdictions.
  • The medical staff evaluate children with suspected physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect in inpatient and outpatient settings which include community locations.
  • Numerous opportunities for teaching including medical students, residents, fellows, medical staff, and community partners.
  • Our pediatrics residency program is among the top programs in the country. All of our residents spend two weeks at the Child Advocacy Center during their second year of residency.
  • Administrative and research responsibilities as desired.
  • Last year, the medical team evaluated more than 300 in-patients, the Child Advocacy Center performed over 400 forensic interviews and our ARCH clinic (Advocacy Resources for Children, which provides primary care to children in the foster care system, follow-up care to inpatients, and outpatient evaluations for abuse and neglect) evaluated more than 1200 children.

  • Well-established practice with 8 Child Abuse Pediatricians and 5 Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Physician will rotate seeing patients through inpatient consults and outpatient medical exams in our pediatric friendly clinic space.
