Job summary

Physicians' Clinic of Iowa’s Pediatrics Department seeks a Part-time (32 hours per week) CMA/LPN/RN to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced practice. You will prepare patients, assist providers, administer immunizations, and document in the medical record.

Responsibilities include patient education, prior authorizations, triage, and managing medication refills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and safety. Exceptional communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant, LPN or RN license required.
• CPR certification required or must become certified within 60 days of employment.
• Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.
• Strong Commitment to patient care and teamwork.
• Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
• Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers with patient care.
• Assist physicians and other providers with in-office procedures.
• Prepare and administer immunizations in accordance with established protocols.
• Follow up on diagnostic test results, communicate results as directed, and document appropriately in the medical record.
• Provide patient and parent education regarding medications, treatments, procedures, and general health care needs.
• Obtain and process prior authorizations for medications, treatments, and diagnostic testing.
• Triage incoming telephone calls and responding to routine patient questions.
• Return patient and parent phone calls and address clinical concerns within the nurse's scope of practice.
• Manage medication refill requests in accordance with office protocols and provider instructions.
