Job summary

Boys Town Same Day Pediatrics in Omaha, Nebraska, seeks a Pediatrician to provide direct ambulatory care part-time and on-call. You will diagnose, treat, and support children across a range of acute or minor illnesses, collaborating with a dedicated health team to deliver high‑quality, family‑centered care.

Qualifications

  • MD from an accredited medical school.
  • Completed pediatrics residency (ACGME or AOA).
  • Board certified or eligible in pediatrics.
  • Able to obtain Nebraska medical licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct pediatric ambulatory care with high‑quality assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Prescribe and administer treatments, therapies, medications, and other care.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions and progress.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Contribute to educational programs and patient education.
  • Maintain compliant medical records and adhere to policies.

Part‑Time & On‑Call Opportunities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Provides direct pediatric care to ambulatory patients as necessary. This includes providing high quality assessment, diagnosis, and treatment or support for patients who are suffering from various conditions, illnesses, or injuries related to the practice of General Pediatrics.
  • Prescribes and administers treatments, therapies, medications, and other specialized medical care.
  • Monitors patients' conditions and progress.
  • Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests.
  • Participates in and/or conducts the various educational programs developed by Boys Town National Research Hospital.
  • Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.
  • Abides by all hospital policies, medical staff bylaws/rules, and legal regulations.
  • Act in accordance with good citizenship while also contributing to the mission of Boys Town.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Apply research expertise as demonstrated by records or sustained work published in medical journals.
  • Communicate concisely both orally and in writing with patients, families, and staff and collaborate with other members of the health care team to enhance care.
  • Make assessments and problem solve.
  • Keep complete and timely records of all events and results of encounters to patients.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Doctor of Medicine Degree from an accredited medical school required.
  • Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited residency in pediatrics required.
  • Board certified or eligible leading to certification in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics or the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics required.
  • Possess or be able to attain medical licensure in the State of Nebraska required.
  • Ability to maintain certification status or participate in maintenance of certification processes as necessary required.
OTHER DUTIES:

  • Serves as a role model in carrying out activities and behaviors that reflect the values and principles of the Boys Town mission.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks. Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop, monitor, keyboard, and a general workstation set‑up.
