Job description

Nemours Children's Health is seeking to hire a full-time Child Abuse Pediatrician to work at Nemours Children's Hospital - Delaware within the Division of General Academic Pediatrics, Nemours CARE (Children at Risk Evaluation) Program.

The mission of the Division of General Academic Pediatrics is to provide superb healthcare to the children of the Delaware Valley; support the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows within the Jefferson Health System and Nemours; achieve a national reputation for scholarship, service, advocacy, and academic excellence in the field of pediatrics; enable the academic careers of its faculty; and contribute directly to the population health of the regional community through outreach and collaboration.

The Child Abuse Pediatrics position includes serving as an attending physician for the Nemours CARE Program, a hospital-based multidisciplinary assessment program for suspected child maltreatment victims across inpatient, outpatient and emergency department settings. Clinical responsibilities include subspecialty consultations for suspected maltreatment victims in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The position offers unique opportunity to interface with multidisciplinary professionals across child welfare, law enforcement, criminal justice and social work. .

The section is a close-knit, collegial team of 2 child abuse pediatricians, 1 nurse practitioner, 1 social worker and 1 medical assistant. Physicians are expected to apply for and obtain academic rank at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. Physicians in the section participate in teaching, mentorship, academic scholarship, education, clinical research, advocacy, and quality improvement.

Successful applicants will be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics and be eligible for an unrestricted Delaware medical license.
