Job summary

IHA Canton Township in Michigan seeks a Board Certified/Eligible Pediatrician for outpatient primary care of newborns through adolescents. Schedule is Monday–Friday with some Saturday hours, utilizing EPIC for documentation and care coordination.

The role emphasizes preventive care, immunizations, and collaboration with a skilled team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and care managers in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Pediatrician.
• Michigan medical license and active DEA.
• Strong clinical skills in preventive care, acute illness and chronic disease follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient primary care to pediatric patients (newborn to adolescence).
• Conduct well-child visits, immunizations, and preventive care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including subspecialists and care managers.
• Utilize EPIC for documentation, care coordination, and quality tracking.
• No inpatient rounding or delivery attendance required.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and value-based care models.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Pediatrician.
• Medical license and DEA in State of Michigan
• Strong clinical skills in general pediatrics, including preventive care, acute illness management, and chronic disease follow-up
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative, team-based care
• Comfortable using electronic medical records (EPIC or similar systems preferred)
• Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based care
• Interest in participating in quality improvement initiatives, population health, or value-based care models is a plus

Duties & Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

• Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care to pediatric patients (newborn through adolescence)
• Conduct well-child visits, acute care visits, and chronic disease management for pediatric patients
• Perform routine developmental screenings, immunizations, and preventive care
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including pediatric subspecialists, behavioral health providers, care managers, and nursing staff
• Utilize EPIC for documentation, care coordination, and quality tracking
• No inpatient rounding, hospital call, or delivery attendance required
• Minimal phone-only call shared with group (nurse triage support provided)
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and value-based care models
• Opportunity to precept students or residents if desired
• Support from centralized administrative and clinical infrastructure for scheduling, billing, and referrals is provided
