Responsibilities

• Manage ambulatory pediatric primary care by taking histories, performing exams, diagnosing, and educating patients.
• Maintain patient satisfaction by acknowledging environmental and cultural factors affecting health.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and ensure accurate chart documentation.
• Practice evidence-based primary care in a team-based model and manage referrals as needed.
• Provide newborn nursery in-house coverage as assigned and take call as scheduled.

Description: Pediatrician Manages ambulatory Pediatric primary care medical practice by eliciting patient histories, performing physical examinations, providing accurate clinical diagnoses, prescribing evidence-based and cost-effective treatments and providing patient education.

• Adheres to Clients Productivity Standard for Physicians of an average of at least 2.7 patient visits per hour of ambulatory time worked.
• Maintains and promotes patient satisfaction through acknowledgement that environmental, social, and cultural factors influence one's health.
• Participates in Quality Improvement activities of the health center including complete, legible and accurate chart documentation, Peer Review chart audits and reviews, and designated projects.
• Practices evidence-based, cost-effective primary care in a team-based model.
• Makes appropriate diagnoses and prescribes appropriate prescriptions and referrals consistent with Client's medical practice guidelines.
• Prepares, implements and documents age specific preventative health schedules for pediatric patients.
• Builds and maintains a Pediatric medical practice with follow-up of return appointments and referrals, and other methods that assure continuity of care.
• Maintains clinical competency through regular Continuing Medical Education and provides documentation of such to Client's Administration upon request.
• Participates in the Newborn Nursery in-house coverage schedule at Partner Hospital(s) as assigned by the Medical Director of Pediatrics or Chief Medical Officer.
• Takes call for Client's patients as assigned by the Medical Director of Pediatrics or Chief Medical Officer.
• Plays a role in educating and training medical and healthcare professionals, as needed, and accepts and implements teaching assignments of Health Center staff as assigned by the Medical Director of Pediatrics or Chief Medical Officer.
