Nexus Children’s Hospital – Dallas is seeking a compassionate and collaborative Pediatrician to provide comprehensive medical care for children and adolescents with complex medical, developmental, neurobehavioral, and rehabilitation needs. This position offers the opportunity to practice within a highly specialized inpatient environment supported by an interdisciplinary team of nursing, behavioral health, therapy, case management, and medical professionals. The Pediatrician will play an essential role in coordinating patient care, managing acute and chronic conditions, and supporting each patient’s overall health, development, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and provide diagnosis and treatment for pediatric patients.
  • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, including medication management and follow-up care.
  • Serve as the attending physician for patient admissions, discharges, and ongoing coordination of care.
  • Participate in daily rounds, care conferences, and interdisciplinary treatment-team meetings.
  • Collaborate with nursing, behavioral health, rehabilitation therapy, and case management teams to develop individualized plans of care.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical needs and response to care.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress.
  • Complete timely, thorough, and accurate clinical documentation within the electronic health record.
  • Provide education and clinical guidance to patients, families, caregivers, and hospital staff as appropriate.
  • Participate in quality improvement, infection prevention, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and evidence-based clinical practices.
Qualifications
Education
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
Experience
  • Previous pediatric clinical experience preferred.
  • Inpatient, pediatric rehabilitation, behavioral health, or complex-care experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience caring for children and adolescents with complex medical, developmental, neurodevelopmental, or behavioral needs is highly desirable.
Licensure and Certification
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the State of Texas or eligibility to obtain Texas licensure.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS and PALS certifications.
  • Must meet all credentialing and medical staff requirements.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong clinical judgment and medical decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and care-coordination skills.
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered, and family-focused care.
  • Ability to manage the medical needs of patients with complex clinical and behavioral presentations.
