Job summary

Citizens Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our Pediatric Walk-In Clinic. The NP will care for infants, children, and adolescents with acute illnesses and minor injuries, aiming to improve same-day access and reduce ED visits.

The role supports a standard Monday-Friday schedule with two Saturdays per month, 8 am-noon, and involves collaboration with physicians, nurses, and medical assistants to deliver high-quality pediatric care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Current APRN license and national board certification
• Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification preferred
• Family Nurse Practitioner candidates considered with strong pediatric experience
• Current BLS certification; PALS required or obtained within the designated timeframe
• Eligibility for credentialing and prescriptive authority
• Pediatric, urgent care, emergency, or walk-in experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat common pediatric illnesses and minor injuries.
• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests and imaging.
• Prescribe medications using evidence-based pediatric guidelines.
• Perform approved minor procedures based on training and privileges.
• Recognize patients requiring physician consultation or a higher level of care.
• Provide clear discharge instructions and follow-up recommendations.
• Complete documentation and test-result follow-up promptly.
• Support efficient patient flow during high-volume periods.
• Participate in quality, safety, and patient-experience initiatives.
• Provide extended-hour and Saturday coverage as scheduled.
