Job summary

Pediatric Dental Group & Adventure Vision in Tulsa, OK is seeking an Optometric Assistant to administer visual tests, operate diagnostic equipment, and assist with eyewear fittings. You will report to the Lead Optometric Assistant.

Strong communication, EHR proficiency, and the ability to train a team are essential; bilingual a plus. Generous pay with monthly bonuses, PTO, holidays, and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in a vision practice is a plus.
• Strong communication skills are required.
• Proficiency in EHR systems is expected.
• Ability to train and lead a team of Optometric Assistants.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand, monitor, and ensure smooth office processes, including coding and optometric materials, insurance benefits, patient collection, and documentation.
• Call patients regarding appointment confirmations, reminders, cancellations, no shows, and recalls.
• Support optometrists during eye exams by preparing patients, performing initial pre-tests, and recording results.
• Accompany patients and parents during exams to pre-test the patient and assist the Optometrist in scribing and finding a good glasses fit.
• Perform vision tests such as visual acuity, color vision, stereo, confrontations, pupils, ICT, and dilating eye drops when needed.
• Help patients select frames and lenses based on prescriptions.
• Process patient payments during check-in and check-out.
• Maintain a clean, presentable practice environment including restrooms, lobby, and common areas.
• Participate in other duties that support high-quality vision and dental services for underserved children.
