Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced Vascular Access Nurse for full-time night-shift opportunities (0.9 FTE) at the Thomas campus, with flexibility to float to other campuses.

In this highly specialized role, the nurse performs PICC insertions, ultrasound-guided IVs, and blood draws across the hospital and outpatient clinics. Ultrasound-guided IV experience is required and pediatric care is central; strong critical thinking and collaboration with providers are essential.

Qualifications

• Two-year ADN, four-year BSN, or Diploma Nursing degree required.
• Pediatric nursing experience preferred; ultrasound-guided IV experience highly preferred.
• Current AZ RN license or compact-state license prior to start date; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessment and ongoing patient/family evaluations per policy.
• Document progress and communicate findings to care team and families.
• Ensure medication/storage/documentation standards and regulatory compliance.
• Provide unit orientation and contribute to staff training and mentorship.
• Supervise and delegate nursing tasks to team members, ensuring safety.
• Collaborate with care team to coordinate plans and care rounds.
• Support learning environment and assist students and new staff.
• Complete miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.
