The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College seeks a fellowship-trained Pediatric Urologist to join our pediatric surgical team at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital. The role combines outpatient and inpatient care within a leading academic system, with strong APP support and teaching opportunities.

Candidates must be board-eligible/certified in Urology and have completed pediatric urology fellowship.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with board-certification or eligibility in Urology.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited urology residency.
• Fellowship training in pediatric urology.
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Academic rank open based on experience and qualifications.
• Strong communication and a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.
• Commitment to teaching, mentoring, and advancing pediatric urology.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and management of pediatric urologic conditions.
• Deliver care in outpatient clinics, inpatient consults, and OR.
• Perform in-office and hospital-based procedures.
• Collaborate with pediatric surgery, pediatrics, anesthesia, nursing, and APPs.
• Engage in quality improvement and interdisciplinary care models.
• Participate in teaching activities within an academic practice.

Job description

The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is seeking a fellowship-trained Pediatric Urologist to join our growing pediatric surgical team. This is an excellent opportunity to practice the full scope of pediatric urology within the region's only Children's Hospital, supported by a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic environment.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pediatric urologic care, including office-based procedures and operative care at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital. This role offers a balanced clinical practice with access to academic resources, collegial partners and strong APP support!

Position Highlights

• Full-time faculty position within an academic medical center
• Mix of inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities
• Perform procedures in both the outpatient setting and the Children's Hospital
• Join a collaborative team of:
  • 1 pediatric urologist
  • 1.5 dedicated pediatric advanced practice providers
• Access to a well-established referral network across the Capital Region and beyond

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and management of a broad range of pediatric urologic conditions
• Deliver care in outpatient clinics, inpatient consult services, and the operating room
• Perform in-office procedures and hospital-based surgical procedures
• Collaborate closely with pediatric surgery, pediatrics, anesthesia, nursing, and APP colleagues
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary care models
• Engage in teaching activities consistent with an academic practice, as appropriate

Qualifications

• MD/DO (or equivalent) with board certification or eligibility in Urology
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited urology residency
• Fellowship training in pediatric urology
• Eligible for medical licensure in New York State
• Academic rank open (Assistant, Associate, or Professor) and based on experience and qualifications.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Commitment to teaching, mentoring, and advancing the field of pediatric urology.
