Summary

The Radiologic Technologist (X-ray Tech) is responsible for all departmental functions aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of PM Pediatrics. This role offers an opportunity for an x-ray tech to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assist with primary patient care based on individual patient needs within their scope of practice under the physician’s supervision. The position requires maintaining effective relationships with patients, families, physicians, staff, volunteers, and vendors.

Description

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
  2. Obtain medical history, vital signs, and patient intake information.
  3. Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following safety and care procedures.
  4. Obtain diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians and healthcare providers.
  5. Ensure all equipment is operational and compliant with regulations.
  6. Maintain daily quality control of radiology equipment.
  7. Document repeat exposures and parent holding logs with dosimeter readings.
  8. Assist in radiology quality assurance programs.
  9. Report equipment malfunctions immediately.
  10. Assist patients in distress and notify medical staff of emergencies.
  11. Collect throat and nasal specimens and process samples for testing.
  12. Support laboratory testing and routine quality assurance.
  13. Apply splints, ace wraps, and DME devices.
  14. Provide patient education on crutches and their proper use.
  15. Contribute to the patient care team.
  16. Ensure exam and x-ray rooms are stocked with supplies.
  17. Perform related duties to support team goals.
  18. Follow policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
  19. Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
  20. Protect patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
  21. Take ownership of tasks and seek opportunities to add value.
  22. Assist with patient complaints and service recovery when necessary.

Qualifications
  • Graduated from a Radiologic Technologist program.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to remain calm and use sound judgment in emergencies.
  • Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of digital imaging and electronic health records (eCW preferred).
