Pediatric Urgent Care - Registered Nurse (Per-diem) Columbia, MD

Overview

The Registered Nurse will support all departmental functions aligned with the company's mission, vision, and goals. This role offers pediatric nurses the opportunity to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care environment, providing primary patient care under physician supervision. The nurse will maintain effective relationships with patients, families, physicians, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support to providers and patients.
• Obtain medical histories, vital signs, and prioritize patient care.
• Perform procedures such as venipuncture, IV insertion, urinary catheterization, administer medications, and assist physicians.
• Maintain knowledge of pediatric pharmacology.
• Assist with patient care, positioning, and comfort during procedures like x-ray.
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked and sterilize equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
• Respond to emergencies and communicate effectively with the team.
• Participate in quality control and continuing education.
• Support efforts to improve care efficiency and patient throughput.

Qualifications

• Experience in pediatrics, ER, hospital, or urgent care preferred.
• Active nursing license in your state or a compact license.
• Proficiency with nursing procedures and medical equipment.
• Current BLS certification; PALS preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and judgment skills.
• Energetic, motivated, team-oriented, and professional.
