Your Kids Urgent Care in Vestavia Hills, AL is seeking a dynamic LPN to deliver compassionate pediatric care in a fast-paced, family-centered urgent care clinic.

Under the supervision of a physician or licensed provider, you will manage patient flow, document in the EHR, assist with exams and procedures, and educate families on discharge plans.

Qualifications

• Active Alabama LPN license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Comfortable working in a small-team, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as clinic needs require.

Responsibilities

• Greet, room, and prepare pediatric patients for evaluation in a warm, reassuring manner
• Obtain and document vital signs, chief complaints, and relevant medical history
• Assist providers with pediatric exams, minor procedures, and treatments
• Administer medications as ordered and within Alabama LPN scope of practice
• Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing (e.g., rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis)
• Start and discontinue medications when trained, competent, and approved by clinic policy
• Observe patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to the provider
• Provide basic education to parents and caregivers, reinforcing provider instructions and discharge plans
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and assist with inventory and supply management
• Support clinic workflow, including assisting other clinical staff as needed during high-volume periods
• Accurately document all care in the electronic health record
• Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and Florida Department of Health standards
